How to Get Pregnant Naturally - Can I Get Pregnant on My Period?
If you have been having difficulty trying to get pregnant for years, you might think that getting pregnant during the menstrual period is impossible. And thus you never have any sexual intercourse during your periods.
However this is just a myth and this article will briefly explain that getting pregnant on your period is indeed possible if certain conditions are prevalent.
First let's understand the menstruation cycle
A textbook menstrual cycle is about 28 days. However, due to other many unknown factors such as stress, may cause you to ovulate at an unsuspected time. Therefore it is common to see women are having shorter or longer periods than the standard 28-day cycle. Some may ovulate after 21st day while some may ovulate at after 30th day.
Scenario 1
Under normal circumstances when you are having your period, another ovum is developing and getting ready to be released in the fallopian tube. For example, if your menstrual cycle is short (say 21 days) you may ovulate one or two days after your period. Therefore if you have sex during your period the chance of getting pregnant is always there. This is the same for people who have longer menstrual periods.
Scenario 2
It is quite common for women to experience spotting during ovulation in between periods. This spotting or bleeding is not actual period but could be in fact you are ovulating. And it is also considered to be fertile period to conceive.
Scenario 3
Women who have irregular periods should actually have higher chances of getting pregnant during their periods. This is because it is near impossible to pinpoint the exact timing of ovulation in such women.
In short it is possible to get pregnant on your period. However why there are so many women still find it difficult to conceive? One of the reasons is they have the wrong misconception that they can't get pregnant while having period and so they avoid having sex during their period.
